About this program

As the residents of Mother Teresa Home grew in number, so did the number of elderly and destitute people arriving at our gate with nowhere else to go. On 5 September 2016, we opened Ammaveedu — literally 'Mother's House' — to give these elders a permanent, caring home on our Nedumkunnam campus.

Ammaveedu residents live in community, sharing meals, prayer and daily life alongside our wider Caring Hands family, supported by the same nursing and pastoral care team that serves the rest of the campus.

What we provide

  • Residential care for elderly men and women
  • Nutritious meals and daily medical monitoring
  • Companionship and community living
  • Spiritual and pastoral care
